# Video Translator

> Translate the speech in a video or audio file and return a dubbed video with target-language subtitles.

>
> 1. After submission, a `task_id` will be returned. If you provided a `callback_url`, when the task status becomes `finished` or `failed`, a POST request will be sent to the `callback_url`.
> 2. Regardless of whether `callback_url` is provided, you can retrieve the response result through the unified [Query Task Status](https://docs.poyo.ai/api-manual/task-management/status.md) endpoint.

Video Translator transcribes the speech in one video or audio file, translates it, and returns a dubbed video. A subtitle file in the target language is returned when available. Use it to localize talking-head videos, tutorials, and short-form content.

## Models

* **poyo-ai/video-translator** — Translate and dub one video or audio file

## Required parameters

* `video_urls` (array of strings): Exactly one video or audio URL. MP4, MOV, AVI, MP3, or WAV, up to 400 MB and 6 minutes.
* `source_language` (string): Spoken language in the source file, for example `en`. `auto` is not accepted.
* `target_language` (string): Language to translate into, for example `ja`.

## Output

A finished task returns the translated video in `files` with `file_type: video`. When a subtitle track is produced, a target-language SRT file is also returned with `file_type: other`. Long files can be processed in segments, and each segment adds its own video and subtitle entries.

## Examples

* **Translate an English video into Japanese** — sets `video_urls`, `source_language`, `target_language`.

## Notes

* Only one file is accepted per task.
* `source_language` must be an explicit language. Language detection is not supported for video translation.
* Files longer than 6 minutes or larger than 400 MB are rejected at submission.
